Frequency.
Frequency is defined in physics as the number of waves that pass a fixed point in unit time. Every living thing, both animate and inanimate, every microbe, virus, bacteria, every sound, colour and thought has a frequency. The frequency of each thing is measured by assessing the rate of cycles per second, its measurement is hertz, so 1 hertz is 1 cycle per second. Frequency, according to Google is the rate at which current changes direction per second. There are high frequencies and low frequencies, there are sounds and music that sound melodious and resonate at a high frequency, and those that are heavy and resonate at a low frequency. Sounds like these have been known as the harmonic wave and the devils interval. The ear that can hear will instinctively know a sound that is of a higher or lower frequency and thus will accordingly feel either light or heavy. When you listen to music ask yourself, what feeling does it invoke? Our emotions too have a frequency, for example Love has a frequency of 528Hz and Fear has a frequency of 4Hz. Note the high and low frequency correlating with high and low emotions. The Earth itself has its own frequency of 7.83Hz, known as the Schumann resonance. The Solfeggio Frequencies are known to resonate with the chakras of the human body. The root chakra being the base at 396Hz and the crown being the highest at 963Hz. So why are frequencies important? And why should we take note of how high or low our frequencies are? They are important because they affect our health and wellbeing, our vitality and our ability to stay strong, even though we may still encounter illness or emotional storms, if we consider how high or low our frequencies are, we will be able assess and address how well we are able to fair against unexpected illness or life events. So how do we stay in a high frequency? This is the tricky bit. Many of you will already know this, what to do and how tricky it can be to do it. Here on our Rana Health social media site we are constantly saying a similar message. The reason for this is to encourage you to raise your frequency. In order to shift out of lower frequency and into a strong and vibrant body and mind state it is essential to do a daily check in, even several times a day. Ask yourself, “what is my frequency and does this bring me closer to my joy, or further away?” Suggestions include: Eat fresh foods and drink plenty of herbal teas and mineralised water. Exercise in a way that brings you joy. Listen to uplifting music. Surround yourself with nature, crystals, beautiful art work. Bush and walks beside the sea are important. Meditate, give gratitude. Have faith. Love with all your heart, accept, forgive and be inclusive. Be the light you want to see in the world. Glass half full. Solution based thinking. Accept, this too will pass. Laughter, find the humour, this is the best medicine. Loving kindness is a virtue. We are all different and this is a gift. Fear not. Arohanui. X

The amount of water in your body ranges from 60-75%. High percentages of water are found in the brain, lungs, kidneys, muscles and throughout every cell in the body. We very quickly notice when our water content is becoming low; fatigue, aches and pains, fogginess and toxicity occur and in cases of severe dehydration we are easily overcome and death may result.
Water as an emotion is fear, governed by the Kidneys. The zodiac signs that are governed by water, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are considered emotional, intuitive, deep, sensitive and watery by nature. Water is strongly influenced by the Moon, water is tidal, changeable and creative. Water covers about 70% of the earth’s surface, without water the earth and all life on earth would quickly die. Water is lubricating, soothing, nutritious, a solvent, it feeds life and is a powerful force. If you try to trap water with a dam it will eventually build up enough force to break the dam. Water will always find a way. Over time it will soften and weaken an area, it will spread itself around an object or barrier and create tributaries and continue on its way. Water carries with it nutrients from along its path, it also moves waste and toxins out of areas, its moves across barriers and membranes, it is a conduit for energy. This is truth both in the external world and the internal. It is important to ensure water is clean, full of the right minerals, clear of poisons and chemicals and not clogged with debris. Given the right temperatures water can be both freezing and scalding. Water is detoxifying and cleansing. We can work to embody the principles of water, in our daily lives, by acknowledging and consciously working on ensuring that we take in enough water daily, through drinking fresh mineralised water, caffeine free herbal teas, fresh vegetable and fruit juices, fresh leafy greens such as lettuce, cucumber and celery and in fruits such as apples, watermelon and citrus. We can use aromatherapy diffusers to mist the air with healing fragrance, we can use neti pots to clear our sinuses of microbes and we can frequently wash our eyes to clear away the debris of the day. We can take walks and swim in the sea and rivers, bathe daily and appreciate and give reverence for the power that water holds, and also look at our lives and see where we can incorporate water’s incredible properties. Water always finds a way. The larger the expanse of water the more force it holds. “The mind is like water, when it is turbulent it is difficult to see. When it is calm everything becomes clear” Buddha Sometimes we just want to be heard. Most women can relate to this. We just want a listening ear, not someone who’s going to fix it all, just simply someone who’s going to listen to what our concerns, hopes, fears and ideas are. Someone to bounce them off and maybe get another perspective.
Listening and hearing what someone is saying is truly a therapy and practice in its own right. So often I hear people say that they have been to the doctor and they didn’t feel heard, or even listened too. During the current crisis that we are in this is even more apparent than ever. Not only am I now hearing that the Doctor isn’t listening, but that the Government too isn’t listening, and families, friends, children, partners, trusted professionals, it seems everyone is in a room shouting and not a single person is listening or being/feeling heard. And the damage this is doing is phenomenal and catastrophic. There are many ways we can listen and actually hear what is being said, this is not always just through verbal interactions, we can look at body language, eye contact, actions, behaviours, and we can actively enquire, ask questions, repeat back how we are interpreting the answers, we can research and learn what the person is talking about, instead of assuming and dismissing. And this relates to anything, take anxiety for example, we can take this at face value and think oh right, you feel a little anxious, and have a certain set of symptoms, but if we research and enquire we could find that it is a specific type of anxiety, that perhaps there are past traumas that are contributing to the feeling, that the diet is poor and always has been so there are nutrient deficiencies that are contributing to this feeling, we may chat about lifestyle and find that the people around them are negative and judgemental and this is contributing to the feeling. So ultimately we see that this isn’t just a simple case of anxious feelings, we see that there are many facets to why the person is experiencing anxiety and we can then begin to address and support the person as a whole rather than a set of symptoms. When I am looking with my body therapist hat on I am also looking at your pulse, what that is telling me, for example is your Liver under pressure, is your digestion sluggish, do you have heat in your Large intestine, is your overall energy weak, could there be an underlying viral load, or an infection, do you just need nourishing and rest. The pulse can tell us many things. Your tongue also has its own story to tell, including gut health and dysbiosis, heat, fluid, dampness and swelling in the body, overindulgence perhaps or just not enough fluid, how sensitive your nature is or physical injuries. The body tells a thousand stories, we can palpate the tissues and see where the tension lies in your body, what physical tendencies may have been accumulated or inherited. We are all so very different, not one size fits all, what works for one person may not work for the next. And this an absolute truth not a variable truth. This could contribute to people having injury for a medicine that has been introduced as a one size fits all remedy. It is not fiction that many people are having adverse reactions to a medicine that has be forced upon the masses as the panacea for the current health crisis. And how do we know that one medicine to fit all is not a wise health move, because we are all different. Our genetic history, our health history, our diets, lifestyles, jobs, physical, mental and emotional view on life, our stress reactions, what triggers us and what calms us, all very different. And the quicker we all understand that, and appreciate that and value that then the quicker we can move away from the one size fits all approach. The quicker we can move towards harmony and supporting each person as an individual and then finding what is the best approach so that no one is left behind, no one is at risk and no one is harmed unnecessarily. The current model is broken, and we collectively can say no more, it is time for a new approach. “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete”. R. Buckminster Fuller |
