Surely, I said, Knowledge is the food of the soul"

Here in the Southern Hemisphere we have just celebrated the Spring Equinox. This is a time of rebirth, growth and fertility. A time when the shortest days and longest nights are over and the warmth and light of the new season begins. A time for early sunrises and late sunsets, it is a time for celebration, for new beginnings and a time for transitioning from the past into the future. Here a few ways that you can welcome the energy of the Spring Equinox into your life and home.

  • Plant a garden, fill it with vegetables and flowers.
  • Prepare a feast and have a gathering of family and friends, young and old.
  • Fill your home with fresh flowers, and lush plants.
  • Have or attend a bonfire (where possible).
  • Begin a new course of study or create art, poetry or song.
  • Spring clean your house and your body.
  • Take up a new exercise routine.
  • Drink teas with Burdock, Kawakawa or Dandelion in them for a blood cleanser.
  • Wake up at dawn every day for a week and welcome in the new season.
  • Make a list of what you want to let go of, and what you want to welcome in.
  • Listen to the Beatles song “Here Comes the Sun” each day for a week.
  • DANCE xx
“Spring is Nature’s way of saying – Let’s Party!”
Robin Williams (1951-2014)
